Waning Gibbous Moon
A waning gibbous moon (appearing more than half full but getting smaller), the sixth of the eight phases of the moon. Depicts the moon as a cratered disc, mostly illuminated in gold or silver, but with its right side a dark crescent.
May be used to represent the moon more generally, nighttime, outer space, and astronomy. May also be used to convey enchanting or eerie feelings.
Not to be confused with 🌔 Waxing Gibbous Moon, though their applications may overlap. Used as part of the Moon Emoji Creep meme.
Samsung’s design once resembled a full moon with stars and previously displayed as a waning gibbous moon in a night sky with stars.
